A letter to Phys 21 pipz

Hi!

I’ve posted your standing in our Phys 21 class this morning. You may read in there how much percentage you should gain in every next activity.

Now, if you feel that the “minimum percentage you must attain” is too far to reach, you can officially drop this subject just to avoid having the failing mark in our Transcript Of Records (TOR). The grades “DRP” and “5.00” are very much different from “ODP” (officially dropped). If you have officially dropped a subject, in your TOR it is as if you did not enroll the subject during that semester. Having failing marks in the TOR is very difficult, especially when you will be applying for a job after graduating. That’s why I advise you on this matter for I can see myself, sitting where you’re sitting right now, a few years ago. It feels like just a few days ago... I know the feelings you might be experiencing right now. And the silent wishes you are hoping. But even though we have that sympathy, I just can’t let you give passing grades, just because out of pity. We have to maintain that reputation, being one of the standard universities. We’d like to sell products of best qualities, not simply half cooked foods.

If you still want to pursue on the course that has phys 21, continue attending classes(even when you have officially dropped it). It may serve as your preparation for the phys 21 this coming summer or next semester. That would be better.

On the other hand, if you feel you have the strength to climb up the percentage you must reach, if you've got some nerves, if you dare, then strive harder, study more, solve more problems in the textbooks, and in every next activity in our class, always make your best shot --- always hit the bull’s eye!!! ;-)
