I've made a very short self test for you, (as requested by some of you,:)). This test has almost the same level of difficulty with the one we've had in chapter 1. Try to test yourself. Answer all the questions within 1.5 hrs. I've already included in there its answer key so that you may check your answers afterwards.

To my Phys 21 studs

Good Day, guys!!
Here is your Take Home Quiz..

You can print it out. Just click on the "phys 21 take home quiz" under the DOWNLOADS on the upper right corner of this blog..

Scientists and engineers seldom work in isolation from one another but rather work cooperatively. I know you will learn physics even more and have more fun doing it if you work with other students. But please do not just "copy paste" the answers of others. YOU MUST understand the solution you are writing.

Please pass it NOT LATER than 2:30 pm tomorrow...

To my Nat Sci 1 studs

Good day, folks!

I was not able to give you your handouts on chapter 5, a topic under midterm coverage, just as I’ve promised you. As you might have experienced, we had no electricity that Saturday and Sunday, that's why.

Anyway, you can print it out for yourself. Just click on the link “nat sci 1 chapter 5 fluid mechanics” on the upper right corner of this blog under the DOWNLOADS. Please study it in advance for we may have a short quiz by the time we resume our classes.

Enjoy your Xmas vacation!!!

Good Study Habit

Here is a good study habit I want to share to you. Please read it as it may serve as a good advice on how you can learn well. =)

First of all, motivate yourself to love the topic you are about to study. Once you learn to love it, you would be interested on it. And that is the time when a striving force builds inside you which would urge and help you understand and memorize it easily.

Before starting, make a survey of what are the materials needed in studying it. Also, figure out an overall picture of what needs to be studied in it. This would make you comfortable, for not being disturbed by missing things during the time of studying.

When you study, do not just run your eyes over the books. Read it by actively answering questions the author(s), your instructors, or you have asked yourself. Do not skip the tables, illustrations, or diagrams because they greatly guide you in understanding the lecture.

Also practice exercises in the books. This is especially effective in mastering solving problems in math, chemistry and physics subjects. Quiz yourself in order to know how much you can recall.

Reviewing is an important process in studying. This tightens and intensifies what you have covered in your head. Go over your notes to further clarify what you have not comprehended. The best time to review is right after you have studied.

To my Phys 21 studs

Good day!
Regarding your assign #2, do not include problem 6 in your handout (taken from University physics 10th edition) as it is similar to problem 2.76...
And here is the list of the final answers.
2.39) (a) 2.94 m/s (b) 0.599 s or 0.6 s
2.61) Break
2.76) time = 3.00 s and the distance = 3.60 m

I already gave you the answers. Now, find the correct solution.
=)
