Assignment of Phys 11.1 - FG

Good Day! Phys 11.1 - FG students!
I would like to tell you that we'll not meet on Aug 1, 2011 (Monday). I gave you an assignment yesterday (July 25,2011), but some of you went home already when I gave it. So, I posted it here also. Please write your solutions on short bond papers. Due date is on Aug 8, 2011. We'll resume our Lab activities on that day also.

Assignment
Individually, solve the following problems. Refer to the given values of forces below. Each group is given set of values for Forces F1, F2, and F3.
In graphical method, you can make your own scale.
1. Find: (a) R = F1 + F2 using graphical method.
(b) R = F1 + F2 using Cosine and Sine Laws
(c) G such that F1 + F2 + G = 0
2. Find: (a) R = F1 + F2 + F3 using graphical method.
(b) R = F1 + F2 + F3 using Component Method
(c) H such that F1 + F2 + F3 + H = 0

Given for Group 1:
F1 = 19,600 dyn, 30 deg N of E
F2 = 9,800 dyn, 50 deg W of N
F3 = 147,000 dyn, 15 deg E of S

Given for Group 2:
F1 = 9,800 dyn, 60 deg N of E
F2 = 147,000 dyn, 30 deg N of W
F3 = 49,000 dyn, 15 deg S of E

Given for Group 3:
F1 = 4900 dyn, 15 deg S of E
F2 = 9,800 dyn, 45 deg S of W
F3 = 11,760 dyn, 15 deg W of N

Given for Group 4:
F1 = 4,900 dyn, 15 deg W of N
F2 = 9,800 dyn, 70 deg S of W
F3 = 147,000 dyn, 30 deg N of E

Given for Group 5:
F1 = 147,000 dyn, 15 deg S of W
F2 = 98,000 dyn, 10 deg S of E
F3 = 49,000 dyn, 45 deg N of W

Note: Blogger.com does not provide an option to write subscript or superscript.
That's why, Force F with subscript 1 is just written as "F1". And the unit of angle degree is simply written as "deg".
