Islamic new year will be on nov 25

Islamic new year (based on Hijra calendar) will fall on November 25, 2011 (this friday).
But unlike the new year observed in Gregorian calendar, Islamic new year is not observed by muslims with grand celebration (with special foods and everything). There are some reasons behind it.
Check this out.

To my new students

The new semester has just started. And I bet everyone had a very joyful moment during enrollment, (~swimming with the rest of the crowds especially in the payment part at the cashier). . . With the 50th anniversary already celebrated, MSU is still MSU. Usual adventure during enrollment period is still on going. haha... Everyone would have to grit their teeth during that period.
And yes, that's just the beginning. . . You should expect more of those kinds. . .
Just this afternoon, I met my afternoon class for the first time. It was cloudy outside and getting darker. And it was great. . . because the electricity went out! So, I just encouraged them to bring candles the next time we meet... so that the afternoon would be romantic. What do ya think, guys?
Well, in behalf of these joys offered by MSU, I'd like to greet all of my new students the best greeting that I can offer:
S A L A M! (or peace in English)

And may you have the patience to bear with me. :-)
